A book on the biographies of the Shaabah. The author compiled it from Usud al Ghaabah by Ibnul Atheer al Jazaree and al Isti’aab fee Ma’rifat al Ashaab by ibn ‘Abd al Barr al Qurtubee. He pointed out a lot of errors and added to what they already had in addition to ordering the Sahaabah in the Arabic Alphabetical order.

He categorized the biographies under every letter into four categories in order to distinguish the Sahaabah from other than them.

The first category: The companions who had their companionship established by way of narration.

The second category: The names of the Sahaabah’s children, those who were born during the lifetime of the Messenger - صلى الله عليه وسلم.

The third category: They are the Mukhadramoon, those who witnessed the pre Islaamic era and Islaam. However, there are no narrations at all establishing that they met the Messenger - صلى الله عليه وسلم -, nor did they narrate upon his authority. They embraced Islaam during his lifetime but they are not considered to be Sahaabah.

The fourth category: Those who were erroneously mentioned in some books as being Sahaabah. He exposes the fact that they are not Sahaabah and this is an issue that is not found in other books.

The last part of the book consists of the biographies of women.
