May Allah preserve you Shaykh! You have explained to us the Shayteen of the Jinn, but how does someone know who the Shayteen of mankind are, and how can one distinguish them from other people? How can one be wary of them, and how does one deal with them?
Whoever encourages sin and immorality and discourages righteousness and uprightness is a Shaytan due to the Allah’s statement:
And whoever follows the footsteps of Shaytan - indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing
Al-Ma_idah: 91And Allah the Elevated said:
Shaytan only wants to cause animosity and hatred between you through intoxicants and gambling, and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer.
So every person who encourages sin and immorality, and discourages the remembrance of Allah and the prayer, then this person is a Shaytan.
Questioner: Even if this person was a parent?
Shaykh: Even if this person was your parent, but remain keen upon giving advice; For if Allah guides just one person through you, it is better for you than the finest of camels. And the majority of people may encourage something that they think is good, while they do not know.
