In this book, the author expounds on the lofty status of knowledge, the great eagerness of the scholars to gain it from amongst the Companions, the Tabi’een and those who came them. He gives accounts of their stories, their patience in seeking knowledge and the long journeys they traveled to seek it.
He speaks about the companions who traveled long distances to hear only one Hadeeth.
He speaks of those who traveled long distances in order to attain a high Isnaad from a Shaykh to find that the Shaykh had passed away before they reached him.
He also mentions interesting stories and lists Ahaadeeth with his own chain of narration.
