‘Ubaadah ibn as Saamit -34 H.
On the authority of ‘Ubaadah ibn as Saamit, may Allaah be pleased with him, who said: “I asked the Messenger of Allaah - صلى الله عليه وسلم - about the greeting of the people during both ‘Eeds; ‘Taqbal Allaahu Mina wa Minkum.’ He responded; ‘That is the way of the People of the Book.’ and he disliked it.” [It is inauthentic, it was collected by al Bayhaqee in ‘as Sunan al Kubraa’: 3/319 and others. Al Bayhaqee stated; ‘Abdul Khaaliq ibn Zayd [in the chain] is ‘Munkar al Hadeeth’ as was stated by al Bukhaaree.’ An Nasaa-ee stated: ‘’Abdul khaaliq is not ‘Thiqah –trustworthy’. Ibn Hibbaan stated: ‘It is not permissible to use his Hadeeth as evidence.’
Jubayr ibn Nafeer – 80 H.
Jubayr ibn Nafeer stated; “When the companions of the Messenger of Allaah used to meet each other on ‘Eed, they would say to each other; ‘Taqabal Allaahu Minaa wa Minkum.’ [Al Fat-h: 2/446]
‘Umar ibn ‘Abdul ‘Azeez – 101 H.
On the authority of Adam who said: “We used to say to ‘Umar ibn ‘Abdul ‘Azeez on both ‘Eeds; ‘Taqabal Allaahu Minaa wa Minka O leader of the believers.’ He used to respond and not rebuke us.” [The chain is weak, it was narrated by al Bayhaqee in ‘Shu’ab al Eemaan’: 3/345 and others, Adham the Mawlaa of ‘Umar is in the chain and he is ‘Majhool’ amongst other defects.…]
Al Hasan al Basree – 110 H.
On the authority of Hawshab ibn ‘Uqayl who said: “I met al Hasan on the day of ‘Eed, I said to him; ‘Taqabal Allaahu Minaa wa Minka.’ He responded; ‘Taqabal Allaahu Minaa wa Minka.’ [Collected by at Tabaraanee in ‘Kitaab ad Du’aa’: P.289, Miskeen Abu Fatimah is in the chain, he was declared as weak by ad Daaraqutnee and ‘Waahin’ by Abu Haatim.
Yunus ibn ‘Ubayd – 139 H.
On the authority of Sh’ubah who said: “I met Yunus ibn ‘Ubayd on the day of ‘Eed, he said to me: ’ Taqabal Allaahu Minaa wa Minka.’[Hasan - Collected by at Tabaraanee in Kitaab ad Du’aa P. 288]
Maalik ibn Anas – 179 H.
On the authority of ‘Alee ibn Thaabit who said: I asked Maalik ibn Anas about the greeting of the people; ‘Taqabal Allaahu Minaa wa Minka.’ He responded: ‘This affair continues to be practiced with us, I do not see a problem with it.’ [Collected by ibn Hibbaan in ‘Ath Thiqaat’: 9/90]
Ahmad ibn Hanbal - 241 H.
Abu Dawood stated: I heard Ahmad being asked about people saying in the day of ‘Eed: ‘Taqabal Allaahu Minaa wa Minkum.’ He responded: ‘I anticipate that there is no problem in that.’ [Su-aalaat Abu Dawood: P.61]
