Al-Bukharee – may Allah have mercy upon him – collected on the authority of Anas – may Allah be pleased with him – that Zaynab bint Jahsh used to take pride over the wives of the Messenger - صلى الله عليه وسلم – saying:
"Your families got you married, as for me, my Lord got me married from over seven heavens."
[Collected by al-Bukhaaree: 13:403-404.]
We have already mentioned in [the explanantion] of Surat an-Noor, on the authority of Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah ibn Jahsh who said:
"Zainab and 'Aaisha competed in virtue;
Zaynab said: "I am the one whose marriage came down from the heavens!"
'Aaisha said: "I am the one whose vindication came down from the heavens!"
So Zaynab conceded to 'Aaisha - may Allah be pleased with her.
Ibn Jareer stated: Ibn Hameed narrated to us on the authority of Jareer ,who narrated on the authority of al-Mugheerah, on the authority of ash-Sha'bee who said:
Zaynab used to say to the Prophet - صلى الله عليه وسلم : There are three things that I can tell you about me, that none of your other wives can tell you of:
Your grandfather and my grandfather are one [i.e. we are related through the same grandfather].
Allah married me to you from the heavens.
The ambassador/minister of the marriage was Jibreel - عليه السلام.
[Collected by at-Tabaree: 14/22]
Note that in these Ahaadeeth is a clear affirmation that Allah is above the heavens, contrary to innovated ideologies that Allah is everywhere.
