Beware of corrupting your deeds, for the only thing that corrupts your deeds is al-Riyaa (showing off).
If not Riyaa, then being impressed with yourself, until you think you are better than your (Muslim) brother. And perhaps you do not practice good deeds as much as he does, and perhaps he may be more cautious than you from what Allah has prohibited, and has purer deeds than you.
If not being impressed with yourself, then beware of loving the praise of people, and their praise is that you love that they honor you for your deeds, and that they feel that you have nobility and status, or one of the many needs that you request from them . You should only seek the afterlife with your deeds, you do not want anything else from your deeds.
Sufficient is abundantly remembering death - for refrainment from worldly glamour, and encouragement for the hereafter.
And sufficient are big aspirations in diminishing fear [of Allah] against sin.
And sufficient is the sorrow and regret on the Day of Resurrection for those who knew but did not act.
